The Islamic Society of New River Valley (ISNRV) is a diverse and growing Islamic community based in Blacksburg, VA. As a community in a college town, we have a special responsibility to nurture the young people who come through our doors.
Whether it be the young children of graduate students who come to our community from all over the world, or the undergraduate students who are leaving home for the first time, we take this responsibility seriously. Our focus on education, strengthening a Muslim identity of our young community members, and creating a sense of community is built into our DNA.

The expanded building will provide much needed community spaces including classrooms and activity spaces for the youth, areas for families, and spaces for high school and college students.
Educational Spaces for Youth
To accommodate the needs of the young generation of Muslims, we are hoping to build flexible learning spaces that can accommodate robust educational activities and allow us to also provide dedicated Islamic education programs in the future.
Spaces for University Students
We hope to build inclusive and comfortable spaces to keep our university students coming to the facilities and enliven the Masjid with their energy and presence while also providing desperately-needed environments for spiritual enrichment.
Multipurpose & Event Spaces
We plan to build a large multi-purpose centers that can hold a wide variety of complementary activities, including physical activities (basketball, soccer, yoga, etc.), large social events, guest speakers, and an extension to our prayer hall.
