HELP BUILD A HOME AWAY FROM HOME FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS

“He alone can keep the mosques of Allah in a good and flourishing condition who believes in Allah, and the Last Day, and observe prayer, and pays the Zakat, and fears none but Allah, so there it is who may be among those who reach the goal.”

(Sūrat al-Tawbah, No 9, Āyat 18)

Support a Masjid in the heart of Virginia This Ramadan

The Islamic Society of New River Valley (ISNRV) is excited to announce our plans for expanding our beloved masjid. Our community is a diverse and growing Islamic center based in Blacksburg, VA, and as the only Islamic Center within a 160-mile radius, we are committed to serving our community and nurturing the young people who come through our doors.

As a community in a college town, we understand the unique responsibility we have in supporting young people from all over the world. Our focus on education, strengthening a Muslim identity, and creating a sense of community is built into our DNA. That’s why we took our first steps toward our expansion in 2022, and with your Ramadan donations, we will begin constructing our new home that will accommodate thousands more inshallah.

Whoever builds a mosque, desiring thereby Allah’s pleasure,
Allah builds for him the like of it in paradise. [Bukhari]

BUILDING A HOME FOR ALLAH IS SADAQAH-JARIYAH

Expanding a Masjid Serving Thousands of Students

We built our first masjid for a handful of people by the name of Allah, and here we are, years later, expanding our reach to thousands more. Our new masjid will have more learning spaces to support our educational programs, a gymnasium to promote health and wellness, a park and gazebo to foster a sense of community, and a recreational space for our youth.

We will also increase our capacity to accommodate the growing number of students from Virginia Tech who rely on us for their spiritual and social needs. With our expansion, we are aiming for a bigger community with better opportunities for every single individual to thrive.
