Ever since its establishment, the masjid at Virginia Tech has served thousands of college students from all over the United States and all over the world. After growing for decades, our masjid desperately needs a new space to meet the unique needs of our community.

Education and Inspiration
for Generations
The Islamic Society of New River Valley (ISNRV) is a diverse and growing Islamic community based in Blacksburg, VA. As a community in a college town, we have a special responsibility to nurture the young people who come through our doors.
That’s why we’re seeking to build a new space for our community. A place where these young Muslims can solidify their connection with Allah (swt) and help guide them from some of the challenges that face Muslim college students in America. With your generous support, we can provide a space that will become an inspirational place for knowledge seekers and young Muslims in Blacksburg, VA.
Educational Spaces for
Youth
To accommodate the needs of the young generation of Muslims, we are hoping to build flexible learning spaces that can accommodate robust educational activities and allow us to also provide dedicated Islamic education programs in the future.
Spaces for University
Students
We hope to build inclusive and comfortable spaces to keep our university students coming to the facilities and enliven the Masjid with their energy and presence while also providing desperately-needed environments for spiritual enrichment.
Multipurpose & Event

We plan to build a large multi-purpose center that can hold a wide variety of complementary activities, including physical activities (basketball, soccer, yoga, etc.), large social events, guest speakers, and an extension to our prayer hall.
